Kim, who's come to Genesis before, sent me this prayer request this morning:
Hello Family and Friends. I wanted you to hear this from me before you hear it on the news. Frontier Airlines filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy early this morning. Apparently, our credit card company that we receive money from when people purchase Frontier tickets on their credit cards informed Frontier that because of the high fuel prices etc and the risk to them they are going to withhold 50% of our money from us. That would almost completely deplete our funds and would affect our day to day operations. SO, we were basically forced to declare bankruptcy very unexpectedly. Our CEO Sean Menke says that they plan to bring us out of this bankruptcy as a stronger airline. Chapter 11 has some kinds of protection so that we have time to try to get out of it successfully. For right now it will not affect our day to day operations or anything else that we have already been doing. All I know is that I think we(I) need as many prayers as possible!
I really think that Sean Menke is a smart man who (if anyone can) really wants to keep us going and has some great ideas to do so. We had a clear plan of how to stay afloat prior to this credit card thing and I really think he and the executive team will come up with the best plan to get us through. Please tell your friends that it is still ok to fly us....that nothing has changed for them at this time and that we are not out of business! We need all the help we can get!
Thank you for all your prayers for both the airline and me personally. I guess it's time to give some serious thought as to what I will do next in my life if this airline thing doesn't work out, huh!? :o)
Please keep the whole situation in prayer. Frontier is obviously a rather important deal in Denver.
